Andy connects robot design with the code, sensors and strategy that make an autonomous run work.
Andy is a West Vancouver student and the programmer and drive coach on VEX Robotics Competition Team 1010N. He has qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship three times, reaching the playoffs as a second seed in 2026.
In February 2026, his team won the Robot Skills Championship at the Mecha Mayhem Signature Event. Andy writes the team's custom C++ firmware using PROS and LemLib, with odometry and Monte Carlo localization behind the autonomous routines.
At BRS, Andy coaches VEX IQ, teaching robot design, building mechanics and programming fundamentals. His technical interests also include Raspberry Pi hardware, ADCs, relay modules, game analysis and match strategy.
